XL Specialized Trailers, Inc. has announced it will begin production of the TowerMate perimeter dolly for wind-tower sections in September.

XL’s TowerMate trailer will haul base towers for wind-towers—rotating machines that convert kinetic energy in wind into mechanical energy and then electricity. The new offering is in addition to XL’s current trailer selections that haul blades and motors for wind-towers, as the company now has products available to transport all wind-tower components.

“I am very excited about the opportunities the TowerMate will bring to XL,” said Scott Wall, president & CEO of XL. “With everything ‘going green’, I know the need for the transportation of the wind-tower sections will only grow. The TowerMate will generate in excess of $10 million of additional revenue for XL in this coming year.”
