Free wellness services for professional drivers as well as workout sessions with Rolling Strong’s CDL Wellness Coaches and free rapid hepatitis C virus testing are being offered as select TravelCenters of America and Petro Stopping Centers as part of the Driver Wellness Tour.
The day-long wellness event features Bob Perry, the Trucker Trainer. Perry is joined by Freightliner Trucks, Team Run Smart, Rolling Strong Wellness Coaches, and representatives from the Truckers Rolling Against Hepatitis C campaign.
The tour stops were selected based on TravelCenters of America and Petro Stopping Centers’ commitment to driver wellness. The company currently has 120 sites with walking trails and 53 locations nationwide with on-site fitness rooms or outdoor fitness stations and 26 sites with outdoor basketball courts. The company has also developed StayFit, a combination of nutritious food options, exercise and information to keep professional drivers on the road to better health.
The Driver Wellness Tour will be stopping at the following locations through Dec. 2, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.

- Nov. 4, Tampa, FL, TravelCenters of America, I-4, Exit 10, off Mango Rd., 11706 Tampa Gateway Blvd. Tampa, FL
- Dec. 2, Ontario West, CA, TravelCenters of America I-10, Exit 57, Milliken Ave. 4265 East Guasti Road Ontario, CA
The initiative is being supported by the Healthy Trucking Assn. of America (HTAA), OraSure Technologies and AbbVie. AbbVie is a global, research-based biopharmaceutical company.
Each tour stop will feature several wellness efforts, including Bob Perry, The Trucker Trainer’s Big Rigger Fitness Challenge, sponsored by Michelin. Drivers are competing nationally to pump the most reps using a Michelin truck tire. The top driver for each tour day will take home a FIT System, Freightliner In-Cab Training System and Big Rigger T-shirt. Bob Perry will be competing against the top contenders at the Driver Wellness Tour finale on Dec. 2, 2014, at the Ontario West TravelCenters of America.
Drivers will have a chance to work out with the FIT System, Freightliner In-Cab Training System, installed in a new Freightliner Cascadia and learn more about Freightliner’s Team Run Smart online community to help them advance in the business of trucking.
Drivers will also have the opportunity to check their levels (blood pressure, weight, BMI) and participate in workout sessions with Rolling Strong CDL Wellness Coaches.
Representatives from the Truckers Rolling Against Hepatitis C campaign will also be on-site providing healthcare education about HCV and testing drivers at no cost. Drivers will be offered testing with OraSure’s OraQuick HCV Rapid Test, the first and only rapid HCV test approved by the FDA that provides lab accurate results with a finger stick blood sample in just 20 minutes.
