June 24, 2014

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has promoted Larry Smith to director of fleet operations, in charge of the company’s fleet sales efforts.

Smith has spent the past five years as district sales manager for the company, managing dealer operations and sales activities for the upper Midwest. Smith replaces Jack Morris, who recently retired.

“Larry has worked tirelessly as a district sales manager to build our business in his territory. His background gives him great insight into dealer operations and as a district sales manager, he has come to know our dealers and the important role they play in all of our fleet sales efforts,” said Mike Rumsey, vice president-sales operations. “He also understands our fleet sales goals and the low cost-of-ownership advantages our FUSO Canter work trucks offer fleet customers. I’m confident he’ll be able to capitalize on that knowledge and experience as be begins to enhance our fleet sales operations for the future.”

Smith has over 20 years of industry experience including managing and directing a heavy- and medium-duty truck dealership as well as a Detroit Diesel–Allison distributor.
