Nationalease working with UTI at new Lisle, IL, campus

March 24, 2014

NationaLease is working with Universal Technical Institute (UTI) at the educational provider’s new Lisle, IL, campus on programs designed to create an education workforce for the transportation industry.

NationaLease is a part of the Program Advisory Committee which reviews UTI’s curriculum, instruction, facilities, and equipment used to ensure they are relevant to the work in the field. The organization has also created a NationaLease-branded classroom to position itself as the employer of choice. The classroom features a map displaying all NationaLease locations, as well as member and organization logos. This classroom is used for the preventive maintenance class, which is a required course for all diesel tech students.

In addition, NationaLease said it will work with UTI to help develop curricula, assist instructors and staff in preparing students with job search skills, participate in career fairs and workshops, and provide speakers for UTI events near campus. The organization will also work with UTI’s Industry Employment department to help identify qualified graduate for open member positions across the country.

“We know that a large number of our current technicians will reach retirement age in the next few years. Finding replacements with the same high standards of service and technical skills is essential,” said Dean Vicha, president of NationaLease. “Our participation with UTI will provide our 165 independent businesses across North America with impressive, highly qualified candidates for technician positions.”
