Units of the South Carolina Army National Guard are in the field to assist communities in the Palmetto state ravaged by flooding: providing traffic control services, shipping in relief supplies, helping build bulwarks against still-rising floodwaters, and conducting "health and welfare checks" to ensure local residents are safe and secure.
