SuperRigs rolls out event schedule

June 5, 2023
Shell Rotella's annual truck beauty pageant will feature light shows, a concert, a parade, and more in Gilette, Wyoming June 8-10.

The 41st Shell Rotella SuperRigs will ride into Wyoming from June 8-10 at the Cam-Plex Wyoming Center in Gillette with the "Big Rigs, Big Competition, Big Country" theme. Truck drivers throughout North America will have the chance to enter the annual truck beauty contest, which celebrates the hardworking trucking community, the company stated in a press release.

"The incredible trucks entered each year are a testament to the drivers that put in the hard work to make them a source of pride for the trucking industry," said Heather Duffey, Shell Rotella's global commercial road transport integrated communications manager. "We're excited to see what this year's competition has in store."

SuperRigs is Shell Rotella's annual truck beauty contest for actively working trucks. Owner-operators across the U.S. and Canada compete yearly for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes. Twelve drivers will be selected to have their trucks featured in the 2024 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar.

The Cam-Plex facility is located off Interstate 90; has over 1,000 acres of land; and features a theater, convention hall, two multi-purpose pavilions, a racetrack, rodeo grounds, more than 1,700 RV sites, and a 21-acre park and picnic area. This is the first time the event has occurred in Wyoming. Last year's SuperRigs, its 40th anniversary, was in Branson, Missouri.

Trucks entered in the Shell Rotella SuperRigs truck competition will be judged by experienced industry professionals who work for major trucking publications or broadcast companies. Judges score the rigs on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality, and workmanship.

Numerous events and activities are planned to honor the shared spirit of cowboys and truckers, according to the release. SuperRigs contestants and attendees will be able to see participating rigs in North America, all while enjoying family-friendly activities throughout the three-day event, Shell Rotella stated.
