• Sleep apnea, driver training, speed limiter rules due soon

    Along with the Safety Fitness Determination Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) due this week, a number of other trucking regulations are on the calendar for the next month or so including: Sleep Apnea (Jan. 29); Entry-Level Driver Training (Feb. 9); and Heavy Vehicle Speed Limiters (Feb. 25).

    Along with the Safety Fitness Determination Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) due this week, a number of other trucking regulations are on the calendar for the next month or so including: Sleep Apnea (Jan. 29); Entry-Level Driver Training (Feb. 9); and Heavy Vehicle Speed Limiters (Feb. 25). The dates are from the January Report on DOT Significant Rulemakings, and are subject to change.

    The slides above list the major regulations scheduled by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the coming year, including their original publication target dates.
