Memories of Christmas Past: Toy Trucks in the Attic

Dec. 22, 2015
Ruminating over a collection of classic toy trucks and assorted heavy equipment play pieces unearthed by chance.

Well, actually, these particular toy trucks and assorted heavy equipment play pieces were unearthed by chance in a neighbor’s garage. Most of trucks seen in these photos were made by Tonka Toys Inc., a company that originally started out as Mound Metalcraft way back in 1946 but changed its name to “Tonka” in 1955. Toy maker Hasbro eventually acquired Tonka in 1991 but wisely kept the name … and its toy truck line, too. (All photos by Sean Kilcarr/American Trucker)
