Natural gas industry spawning new conferences, associations

The growth of North America’s natural gas industry is creating a surge in another industry as well—meetings and conferences. For fleets that want to learn more about natural gas vehicles, more and more resources are becoming available. Here is a listing of some of the organizations, conferences and events where you can find information about natural gas:

ACT Expo: Washington, D.C., June 24-27, 2013. Alternative Clean Transportation Expo organized by Gladstein, Neandross & Associates with the participation of numerous companies and organizations.

American Petroleum Institute: Trade association that represents all aspects of America’s oil and gas industry, including natural gas.

California Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition: The California NGV Coalition is an association of natural gas vehicle and engine manufacturers, utilities, fuel providers and fleet operators serving the state.

Center for Liquefied Natural Gas:  a trade association of LNG producers, shippers, terminal operators and developers, and energy trade associations.  CLNG is a clearinghouse of educational and technical information.

CNG Now: A trade association of natural gas suppliers dedicated to promoting CNG as a vehicle fuel.

HHP Summit: High Horsepower Summit. Natural gas power for high horsepower applications in mining, rail, construction, marine. Date and location for 2013 Summit TBD.

LDC Gas Forums: five regional conferences held annually in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Canada.

LNG Vehicle Fuel Consulting Group: The consulting team is a partnership between two LNG consulting firms: Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (Santa Monica, California) and CDS Research (Vancouver, Canada).

Milken Institute Global Conference: Natural Gas: Milken is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank. The Milken Institute “believes in the power of capital markets to solve urgent social and economic challenges and improve lives.”  

Natural Gas Fleet Vehicles North American Congress 2012:  recently held in Houston, TX. Produced by American Business Conferences as part of a series of events called “Unconventional Oil and Gas Summits.”

Natural Gas Supply Association: Represents suppliers that produce and market natural gas.

Natural Gas Vehicle Infrastructure Conference: UK-based FC Business Intelligence entered the natural gas market by sponsoring this kick-off event in Houston, TX, in January of 2012.

Natural Gas Vehicles for America: A national trade association dedicated to the development of “a growing and sustainable American market for vehicles powered by natural gas or biomethane.”

NGV Global News: NGV Global News is the newsletter of NGV Global (the International Association for Natural Gas Vehicles).

Natural Gas Vehicle Institute: A provider of training and consulting on natural gas as a vehicle fuel.

Natural Gas Vehicle Technology Forum: Led by the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission, NGVTF unites a diverse group of stakeholders.
