Phillips Industries Commercial Vehicle Products Division recently received ISO 14001:2004 certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS), the company has announced. The certification applies to Phillips’ production of electrical and air brake interface equipment for the heavy-duty trucking industry.
“In addition to our focus on supplying quality products that fleet owners want and need, Phillips is also concerned that we do it in an environmentally friendly way,” said Bob Phillips, president & CEO. “Certification of our Environmental Management System to ISO 14001:2004 level validates that effort.”
According to the International Organization for Standards, ISO 14001:2004 certification is a management tool that allows an organization to identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, continually improve its environmental performance, and implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets.
