Ever have an idea for a tool that you thought was just perfect but didn’t know how to build it or sell it? Well, OTC, a SPX Brand, has a solution for all you tool inventors out there.
The company has launched a new website dedicated to tool inventors. The site, located at www.otctools.com/inventionsubmission.php, allows anyone to submit ideas for review by tool experts.
(See a video demonstration of the site and how to submit your idea following the jump.)
“At SPX, we have a strategic initiative to develop our 'Bright Tool Ideas' resources,” said Davin Alan, product manager of marketing communications at SPX Service Solutions. “In the case of OTC, this initiative is about continuing to develop the brand's strong inventor community base and accessing outside resources to rapidly bring ideas to market. Some of our best tool innovation ideas come from inventors and they could earn cash awards or royalties for their inventions and ideas.”
The site is not just for ideas, though. It’s also a new resource where people can offer solutions to repair challenges or feedback to OTC on tool and equipment problems they may be having. Of course, if you have a problem and no tool to solve it, this is a great way to reach an expert in search of a solution.
“We’re looking for the best new tool ideas for 2011,” said Alan. “If you have a bright tool idea, we think it deserves to shine. Share your ideas with OTC and you may be selected to become part of our product line.”
