West Chester, PA-based LTL carrier A. Duie Pyle is switching over to Qualcomm’s new OmniVision mobile communication platform so it can boost freight visibility to its customer base
“We place a high premium on harnessing technological advances in order to better serve our customers, and we’re always on the look-out for the next big thing,” said Steve O'Kane, A. Duie Pyle’s president. “With the OmniVision platform, we’ll be able to give our LTL customers more visibility and security of their shipments than ever before.”
O’Kane said the upgraded system will boost his company’s Dashboard-to-Desktop system so shippers get “perpetual visibility” of their freight while it’s in motion, enabling them to track their shipments from pick-up to delivery, right from their own desktops. The system will offer truck location and delivery stop; real-time shipment tracking; automatic e-mail notification of delivered shipments; and web-based point of delivery and estimated time of arrival user tracking options.
