Jim Davidson, president and CEO of NTE (formerly the National Transportation Exchange) told editors during the recent D/C Expo that the company is moving ahead with plans to go beyond its spot market roots to provide a comprehensive exchange for businesses that buy, sell and manage transportation services.

“NTE's vision is that we'll create an arena where people can buy and sell transportation services — very similar to the airline industry, which has only four reservation systems,” Davidson said.

The company reported 6.4 million hits to its web site and a tripling of business volumes in the first quarter of this year. Go to www.nte.com.
