The Mobius TTS onboard computer (OBC) from Cadec Corp. has been released in a portable version that can be used by fleets temporarily renting or leasing equipment. The Mobius TTS-32 runs the same Microsoft Windows CE software and has the same features and functionality as the hardwired version, according to the company.

Installation of the portable OBC requires plugging it into the J1939/J1708 data bus and mounting a small GPS antenna on the windshield. It can be powered by a rechargeable battery or plugged into a vehicle power point.

Fleets already using the Mobius TTS can use the portable version to extend fleet and logistics management to vehicles and drivers hired to handle temporary increases in freight. It can also be used for training drivers to use the Mobius system, according to Cadec.
