Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) has rolled out its new MT-45 SR (Straight Rail) diesel chassis, a variant of the existing MT-45 chassis.

The significant difference between the MT-45 and MT-45 SR is in the new chassis' 8-in. tall steel straight-rail frame, designed to enhance the chassis' overall strength and reliability.

The MT-45 SR is a medium-duty chassis offering a GVW rating between 14,140 and 19,000 lb. It can accept bodies of up to 22 ft. in load length and volumes of up to 950 cu. ft.

FCCC points out that with its payload capacity of 10,000 lb., the MT-45 SR is ideal for applications handling large volumes and heavy loads.

The chassis also boasts a 50-degree wheel cut for greater maneuverability.

Standard powerplant is the Mercedes-Benz MBE900 170-hp. diesel engine.

Also standard is the Allison 1000 Series automatic transmissions as well as multiplex instrumentation wiring with full diagnostics and a heavy-duty TRW steering column.
