Valvoline recently introduced Premiuim Blue Extreme, a synthetic heavy-duty engine oil that meets all API CI-4 requirements, as well as Cummins CES 20078. For select engines under certain operating conditions, drain intervals have been extended as far as 100,000 miles.
The new oil minimizes soot buildup through its Dispersive Poymer Technology (DPT), which disperses individual soot particles, thus contributing to a smooth oil flow to protect the valvetrain and keep the engine clean.
Premium Blue Extreme contributes to engine durability by managing the higher operating temperatures generated by EGR engines. According to Valvoline, it also combines the low-temperature viscosity of an SAE 5W with the protective capacity of an SAE 40, making it easier for engines to operate at temperature extremes.
