Freight transportation and supply chain management provider Averitt Express has donated $388,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, completing a $1.5 million endowment. The donation, given at the fourth annual Palm Dinner September 18th in Nashville, finances the hospital’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Clinic.
Gary Sasser, Averitt Express president & CEO, joined with other Averitt associates to make the check presentation. The endowment is an addition to the nearly $2 million donated since 1990 through Averitt Cares, the company’s employee giving program.
"It is an honor to support the kids and families of St. Jude," said Sasser. "Our associates have always been compassionate, giving people, and they were thrilled with the opportunity to fund the St. Jude Leukemia and Lymphoma Clinic, knowing how many lives it would touch in a positive way."
