Trax Mechanical Systems has changed its name to AXN Heavy Duty to more accurately reflect itself while distinguishing the company from other North American component suppliers, president & CEO Sergio Carvalho said. AXN began operations in Louisville earlier this year.

“We are very pleased with the reception we have been getting from OEMs, fleets and distributors,” Carvalho said. “Our customers recognize the principles that drive our company, regardless of our name. The name change represents nothing more than our continued focus on delivering value-added solutions, and not to be distracted from that goal.”

The company, which is building a major production facility in China, has entered the U.S. market with a line of trailer axles and landing gear.

Other product launches are scheduled over the next several months including truck steer and drive axles as well as trailer air suspensions.
