Roger D. “Butch” Mabe Jr., 49, the owner and president of Mabe Trucking, Eden, NC, pleaded guilty in federal court to lying to federal investigators by falsifying driver hours-of-service logbooks, according to a report in the Greensboro News & Record.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Mabe pleaded guilty to one count of violating Title I8, Section 1,001 of the United States Code. Maximum penalty for the offense is five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. The company also faces a fine of $500,000.
Mabe will be sentenced on April 20.
