SMC³ has announced its inaugural Loss Prevention Conference, to be held at the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel from October 20 to 22, 2008, will offer educational sessions to help attendees develop strategies, techniques and best practices for preventing and resolving claims issues.
The conference grew out of the Loss Prevention Conference (LPC) organization, which shut down earlier this year. Previous members of the LPC board of directors advised SMC³ on this year’s conference.
Topics for the event include concealed damages, drop trailer liability, processing cargo claims, a released rate update, understanding recoverable damages, and OS&D. The conference will also include small group discussions and Q&A sessions.
“SMC³ is building upon the foundation of education and networking that the LPC association established,” said John Rader, director of industry and educational services for SMC³. “Anyone involved in loss prevention, whether they represent a carrier, shipper or 3PL, will stand to benefit.”
