The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. tells us that the spanking-new, heavily modified Cadillac DTS limo that was put into service as President Barack Obama's term began rides on a set of Goodyear Regional RHS tires — which the tire maker said are “actually truck tires in a 285/70R19.5 size, necessary due to the vehicle's extra load that includes a heavy-duty chassis, extended length and armored material.”

To be precise, said Goodyear, the President's car runs on standard tires, but the rims contain a run-flat device (made by Hutchinson Industries) that enables the vehicle to be driven even with zero air pressure in all four tires. Fitment of the tires continues a decades-long tradition of Goodyear serving as the exclusive tire supplier for the presidential limo and as the standard tire for U.S. Secret Service vehicles.
