The current state of the economy and its impact on the supply chain and transportation management will be the featured topic of a June 16, 2009, webinar hosted by Emergys Corp.

Transite Technology CEO Geoff Comrie and Dr. Robert Handfield, Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management, North Carolina State University and Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Operations Management, will lead the presentation.

"Time and money are more important than ever," said Handfield. "The tough economy has heightened the rewards for those organizations that have the abilities to create new revenue, minimize costs and streamline processes. The transportation and shipping portions of the supply chain are ripe with such opportunities."

The webinar, "Making New Money: Reducing Pain through Modern Transportation Management," will include discussions on how to leverage your transportation network for improved cost savings and customer service, how to measure and manage transportation as an integral part of your supply chain, and demonstrate ways to determine how to effectively manage shipments through visibility and tracking.

The webinar begins at 1 p.m. To register, visit https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/690359466.
