Hendrickson has added a 54-in wide box to its Vantraax family of slider suspension systems for wide-based single tires.

Designed for dry freight, refrigerated and specialty vans, a single tire configuration combined with the Vantraax system could save over 350 lbs per trailer, the manufacturer said.

Hendrickson offers a wide box in a 40,000-lb capacity with an 83.5-in axle track with all standard equipment and options. The system uses the Intraax air suspension system and K-2 slider technology that contributes to durability and weight reduction, the company said.

The system also utilizes an axle-beam connection paired with Tri-Functional Bushing for ride softness and stability, Hendrickson said.

In other news, the company has enhanced its website to offer customers and users more convenience. It features a new aftermarket section as well as bumper and lift axle configurator tools.

An “aftermarket” link is located on the top navigation bar on the home page, while the configurator is also accessible from the home page.
