BP reveals sponsors for “Big Honkin’ Truck” contest

BP Lubricants USA Inc. has unveiled the sponsors for its Castrol Tection Extra “Big Honkin’ Truck Makeover” contest, the winner of which will feted at the Great American Truck Show next month. The grand prize for the winning operator (of a truck weighing more than 10,000 lbs. GVW) is an “internal, external and communication makeover” valued at $50,000.

Grote Industries will provide $3,000 worth of electrical and lighting accessories, including Hi Count LEDs and Panelite Millennium Series lighting, while Aeroserve Technologies is going to offer 10 sets of Airtabs – aerodynamic tabs that adhere to the winner’s truck cab and trailer, valued at $2,750 – said to help boost fuel mileage and improve tire life.

Burdilla Lanser Technologies will offer InfoTrack GPS navigation software and hardware, valued at $2,500, while Sirius Satellite Radio has signed on to donate the system of a driver’s dreams – either a plug-and-play option (good for fleet drivers who use multiple rigs) or a permanently installed radio, each valued at $2,000.

Finally, Alcoa Wheel Products will contribute six Dura-Bright wheels for the outer wheel positions of the winner’s truck, valued at $2,000, and National Seating will guarantee $2,000 worth of their seats of the winner’s choice.
