Holland says it reduced the weight of its FleetMaster fifth wheel by modifying the cast steel top plate, which cuts the weight down to 222.6 lb. Holland said it also machines the FleetMaster top plates to more precise flatness.
Load-bearing capacity has also improved. The casting and locking improvements to the FleetMaster line have boosted its vertical load rating from 45,000 to 50,000 lb., with a maximum drawbar pull of 150,000 lb.
Finally, Holland says it will back up the FleetMaster fifth wheel line with two warranties — a standard 5 yr./500,000-mi. warranty coupled with a 4-yr./400,000-mi. performance guarantee-when the FleetMaster is used in standard 5-axle on-highway applications.
