Phyllis Cochran, vp-operations for Navistar Financial Corp., will become general manager effective December 1. The company said she eventually will replace John Bongiorno, president of Navistar Financial, who plans to retire March 1.

Cochran will be responsible for all truck financing activities in the U. S. and Mexico, said Navistar. Upon Bongiorno's retirement, Cochran will report directly to Robert Lannert, CFO of Warrenville, IL-based Navistar International Corp., the parent company of both Navistar Financial and International Truck & Engine Corp.

Cochran, who joined Navistar in 1979, has also served as vp and controller at Navistar Financial, overseeing dealer operations and finance.
