    Safety accessories that extend beyond truck length and width limits are permissible under Federal Highway Administration rules, effective March 29. Although previous rulings had exempted items such as mirrors, turn signals and wind deflection devices, the new ruling unified all of these previous rulings for vehicles operating on the national highway system.
