Freightliner LLC has awarded Haldex Brake Systems its standard data book position for long stroke brake chambers, including spring brake actuators and service chambers. The long stroke products will become standard on Freightliner Century Class and Sterling models.

This business is expected to add more than $5 million to Haldex Brake Systems’ annual sales volume in North America.

“Gaining this business with a world leader in the transportation industry is a significant achievement and strengthens our own position as a leading global supplier of braking systems and components,” said Haldex Brake Systems president Chuck Kleinhagen.

According to Haldex, its long-stroke double diaphragm spring brake uses a number of features in order to deliver the lowest cost-per-mile. The low profile design minimizes weight and provides exceptional impact resistance.
