A new series of onboard computers features a self-contained terminal and keypad, and can be installed in light-duty vehicles. The TKO Series from Tripmaster Corp. also includes an integrated GPS receiver for automated electronic DOT-approved logs and state-line crossings.

The new OBC can be connected to a vehicle J-1708 data bus or any other onboard vehicle sensor, making it suitable for fleets with either heavy-duty or smaller vehicles, according to Tripmaster. All models are also compatible with current Tripmaster software, allowing fleets to extend existing management applications to light and medium-duty vehicles.

The base model TKO-100 features a removable memory card for data retrieval and can produce a wide range of operational reports with the companion Tripmaster Office Lite software. The TKO-200 adds GPS-based tracking information, and the TKO-300 offers a more sophisticated keypad for use with electronic logs, automated fuel-tax data recording and downloadable route assignments.

“The TKO Series … was developed in response to requests made by fleets that need only basic onboard data collection capabilities for vehicles of several GVW ranges,” says Tripmaster exec.-vp John Gaither. “The enhanced capabilities of the TKO-300 version provide an economical answer to those operations needing to address DOT regulatory and compliance reporting, and fuel-tax usage requirements.”
