Concord, NC-based Cardinal Freight Carriers is changing its name to Cardinal Logistics Management Corp. (CLMC) to better reflect the company’s transition from a truckload firm to a logistics and supply chain service supplier.

“Several years ago we exited the truckload carrier business completely and now felt it was a necessary and important step to officially change our company name to more accurately reflect our current line of operations,” said Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal’s chairman.

From its start in 1997 as Cardinal Freight Carriers, CLMC has continued to experience explosive demand for its dedicated and time-sensitive freight delivery offerings, he said.

Dedicated and delivery services soon set the company apart from other third-party logistics firms as Cardinal streamlined operations to focus on jobsite and “last-mile” delivery services, plus warehousing and inventory control options, said Cardinal. Total warehousing and distribution center square footage now tops more than 800,000 sq.-ft. of space, with more than 15 locations across the country, he added.
