EMP is a domestic interline container service that manages the interchange of containers between member railroads, including Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern. CPR said it recently expanded its role in EMP by contributing its own domestic containers and extending the program to key markets. EMP now gives CPR customers shipping between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico access to one of the largest service networks for domestic containers, the railroad said.

The network serves major centers such as Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Newark, NJ. Along with its participation in the North American Container System, CPR offers a full choice of cross-border container options, it said.
