    Regional, vocational, P&D tires released
    Dec. 31, 2002
Yokohama Tire Corp. has introduced three commercial truck tires for regional, on/off-road and P&D applications.

The premium RY567 is said to offer extended mileage, increased traction, improved durability and better retreadability in regional hauling. It features 22/32-in. tread depth for high-scrub applications, stone rejection block and a stress wear control grove. The new commercial radial will be offered in 22.5- and 24.5-in sizes in both standard and low profiles. An extended warranty will cover the RY567 for five years through four retreads.

The MY507A uses an anti-chip compound and 24/32-in. tread depth to handle on- and off-road conditions encountered by concrete mixers, dump trucks and refuse haulers, according to Yokohama. It is currently available in 385/65R22.5, with 425/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5 sizes following in the first quarter of 2003. Limited warranty coverage is for six yrs. through three retreads.

The RY023, which was introduced earlier this year, has added a new size – 255/70R22.5. Intended for P&D or regional truck applications, the RY0223 features a five-rib design and semi-rounded shoulder to reduce shoulder rippling while improving lateral stability and water evacuation. It also offers a sidewall abrasion guard to protect against curbing damage.
