Cummins names Loughrey president

Columbus, IN-based truck engine maker Cummins Inc., has reorganized its executive suite and named Joe Loughrey president & COO of the company.

Jim Kelly, who recently served as vp & gm of Cummins’s mid-range and heavy-duty engine business, has been appointed to Loughrey’s former position as president of the company’s truck engine division.

Cummins also promoted Rick Mills to president of its new components group, and Rich Freeland to president of Cummins’ Worldwide Distribution Business, which combines Cummins International and North American distributors in one organization.

“We are restructuring critical elements of the company to help us better execute our plans, grow faster - especially in developing markets - capture more synergies between businesses and generate more profit for shareholders,” said Tim Solso, Cummins chairman & CEO.
