Mobile workers equipped with Palm OS wireless devices can now capture data in the field with iM:Collect software from iMedeon Inc. The new Palm OS package is designed to feed real-time data into iM:Work, the company's wireless Web-based application for managing field service and other mobile workers.

The new Palm OS application includes preconfigured templates for data collection, as well as administration tools for quickly configuring the hand-held devices for new data-collection requirements. Supporting the Palm OS, says iMedeon, gives its users access to a growing list of Palm device add-ons, including GPS receivers, bar code readers, and a variety of wireless data modems.
