"At this point, the only limit on light truck sales is product availability," said Honda executive vp Dick Colliver.

American Honda total light truck sales of 33,664 increased 27.3%, topping the previous record set in December 2001. The Honda Odyssey, CR-V and Acura MDX all set sales records in March.

Honda Odyssey sales of 15,020 vehicles increased 24% from March 2001, while CR-V sales of 13,722 units were 52.1% higher than the same period last year. With sales of 5,083, Acura MDX sales increased 21% for the month.
