Velocity names new CFO

Westport, CT-based logistics provider carrier Velocity Express Corp. has hired Edward “Ted” Stone as its new CFO, replacing current CFO Dan DeFazio who decided to retire after less than three months on the job.

Stone’s duties as Velocity’s CFO will include responsibility for financial activities and performance, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, audit, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations functions. He has 30 years of financial experience at various companies, including healthcare and software providers.
