Xantrex Technology recently unveiled a new inverter/charger device for fleets to provide clean, mobile AC power. The Prosine 2.0 inverter/charger is said to produce exact sine wave power and precise battery charging capabilities that enables fleets to operate sensitive electronic equipment from their vehicles. This is especially useful for those involved in utility and fire/emergency applications.

The Prosine 2.0 unit is a 2,000-watt inverter/charger that uses 100-amp, three-stage power factor-corrected charging to safely top-off batteries. According to Xantrex, the unit can fully replace 80% of a battery's charge in one-third the time of a standard charger. Automatic AC transfer switching makes it possible to move smoothly between battery and incoming AC power without disruption.

The Prosine 2.0 unit measures 17¾ × 11¼ × 5¾ in. and weighs 24 lb. It is certified to UL and CSA standards; meets FCC Class B standards for EMI operations; and complies with U.S. federal specification KKK-A-1822D for ambulances.
