Network to provide wireless truckstop communication

Flying J Inc., SmartStop Wireless Solutions and Petro Stopping Centers have formed the Travel Plaza Alliance Network to set up wireless communications at participating Flying J Travel Plazas and Petro Stopping Centers.
Flying J Inc., SmartStop Wireless Solutions and Petro Stopping Centers have formed the Travel Plaza Alliance Network to set up wireless communications at participating Flying J Travel Plazas and Petro Stopping Centers.

The network will use IEEE 802.11 technology, more commonly known as WiFi, to provide carriers and drivers a common platform on which personal and business data traffic may be transmitted and received. In addition, the network will provide wireless Internet access at the truckstops.

Flying J said it has been installing its WiFi systems and technology over the last few months and has its network approximately 50% complete.
