BF Goodrich Commercial Truck Tires recently introduced an on/off road all-position tire, the ST576. The company says the tire's four-belt construction provides added protection against road hazards and improves retreadability. A full-width protector ply is said to better shield the working plies against shocks and penetrations common in construction/mining, sanitation/refuse and logging applications.

The ST576, which replaces the ST565, comes in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes, Load Range H.

The Commercial Vehicle Systems Div. of Dana Corp. announced enhancements to its line of Dana Spicer standard brakes for trailers. The brake lining formula has been upgraded to Spicer Silver Supreme, said to provide longer lining and drum life. Brake shoe corrosion resistance has also been improved. www.roadranger.com

J.D. Power and Associates has awarded Caterpillar's C-15 diesel engine its highest level of customer satisfaction, marking the fourth consecutive year a Cat on-highway engine has won the honor. The C-15 engine won the award in the vocational category. www.cat.com

Eaton Corp. has announced plans to form a joint venture in China with Shaanxi Fast Gear Works Co. Ltd. (SFGW) and Xiang Torch Investment Co. Ltd. to produce heavy-duty truck transmissions for the Chinese market. Known as Eaton Fast Gear Co., the joint venture will be formally established once regulatory approval is obtained. Eaton will have 55% ownership of the venture. www.eaton.com

Trucker Buddy is selling a toy model of Mike Ryan Motorsport's 1998 Century class Pike's Peak Hill Climb race truck. Funds from the sale of the 3-piece set, priced at $55, will be used to support the Trucker Buddy pen-pal program, which pairs drivers with elementary school children to enhance writing and geography skills.
