An international jury of leading truck journalists, representing 20 countries in Europe, has named DAF LF the International Truck of the Year for 2002.

The jury said the award is given annually to the new truck that "gives the best contribution to the development of transport of goods by road in the countries involved in the election.

"DAF has developed a completely new modern and comfortable medium heavy truck range with great flexibility for different transport tasks," the jury said. "DAF has put three of the most important criteria in focus by developing the LF; operational costs, functionality and driver's comfort."
