The Holland Group has announced the release of its integrated, low-weight, slider system (ILS) that it said offers up to 151 lbs. of weight savings compared with conventional fifth wheel/slider combos without compromising strength.

ILS is compatible with the Holland FW35, FW31 and FW17 fifth wheel models and is available in 7-, 8- and 9-in. mounting heights and travel lengths of 12, 24, 36 and 48 in. Its modular design simplifies changing fifth wheel heights into a simple, two-part, six-bolt task. This joined with Holland’s convenient bracket exchange program adds to the flexibility of sliding fifth wheels, the manufacturer said.

Sliding fifth wheels allows weight transfer between tractor axles to accommodate trailers with different kingpin settings and different vehicle combination lengths. They also maximize equipment flexibility and improve maneuverability and ride comfort, Holland added.
