Vexure revenues increase 60%

Third-party logistics firm Vexure Inc. said its revenue topped $69 million last year, which is 60% increase over the $43 million in revenue it recorded for 2001.

Jacksonville, FL-based Vexure is the parent company of several subsidiaries, including Stonier Transportation Group, TRT Carriers, Velocity 3PL, Alert Cargo Express and Stonier Trucking.

President & COO Thomas Piatak said Vexure's revenue growth came from three main areas. Revenue from its pre-print logistics group, which provides time-sensitive transportation services for the advertising inserts in Sunday newspapers, increased 80%, he said.

Revenue for its truckload freight-forwarding group grew by 12%, while its newly formed intermodal group posted $11 million in revenue, compared to virtually none in 2001.
