General Electric Co. (GE) has awarded Consolidated Freightways Corp. (CF) its Carrier of the Year award.

The GE Transportation Council recognizes general carrier performance in areas such as invoice accuracy, claims ratio and competitive pricing, as well as participation in GE initiatives such as Six Sigma, Digitization and Productivity. The winning carrier must provide a "full market basket" of products and must also proactively meet GE's customer service and cycle time reduction objectives.

Ron Painter, GE's manager of corporate transportation programs, said outstanding customer service was a primary reason why CF was able to participate in all of GE's 12 major businesses.

Consolidated Freightways Corp. is comprised of LTL carrier Consolidated Freightways, third party logistics provider Redwood Systems, Canadian Freightways LTD, Transportes CF Alfri-Loder and CF AirFreight, an air freight forwarder.
