Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week

According to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Assn., several leading associations and organizations serving the heavy-duty aftermarket have joined forces to create the first-ever “Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week,” which is to be held in Las Vegas in February 2006.

The new event will boast a trade show along with training, educational and social functions, and one-on-one business meetings. The organizers say the format was crafted in response to requests by manufacturers, distributors and truck fleet/heavy-duty service specialists “to reduce the number of meetings and redundancy in the heavy-duty aftermarket.”

Members of the joint operating committee that created the event include the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Assn.; the Heavy Duty Distribution Assn.; the National Wheel & Rim Assn.; the Service Specialists Assn.; and Fleet Pride. Other groups actively involved are Heavy Duty America and VIPAR.

Elected chair of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week was David Scheer, president of Inland Truck Parts Co. “Each of the participating organizations that are spearheading the new Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week are committed to producing a common, focused and cost-effective event where the unique services that each association offers can be shared with attendees,” Scheer noted.
