Goodyear opens 2002 Highway Hero campaign

Truck tire maker Goodyear Tire & Rubber is now soliciting nominations for the 2002 North America Highway Hero. Goodyear said its 20 year-old program aims to recognize professional truck drivers for life-saving rescues and other forms of roadside assistance. Truck tire maker Goodyear Tire & Rubber is now soliciting nominations for the 2002 North America Highway Hero.

Goodyear said its 20 year-old program aims to recognize professional truck drivers for life-saving rescues and other forms of roadside assistance. Goodyear said nominations would be accepted until Dec. 31 and that entry forms can be obtained online.

Nominees must be a full-time truck driver and reside in the U.S or Canada. Also, the incident must have occurred in the U.S. or Canada and the nominee must have been on the job or on the way to/from work in his or her rig at the time.

Also, the nominee's truck at the time of the incident must have 14 wheels or more and the incident must have occurred between Oct. 1, 2001, and Dec. 15, 2002.
