St. Augustine, FL-based Tree of Life Inc. has purchased Xata Corp.’s complete OpCenter solution to manage its fleet of 350 trucks.

Tree of Life, a specialty and natural foods distributor, said it purchased OpCenter to replace older, obsolete equipment purchased from a different fleet management provider.

“In order to reach our objectives for fuel economy, log accuracy and further minimize clerical time, we had to start leveraging newer technologies,” said Mark Sineath, corporate vp of transportation for Tree of Life.

Tree of Life said implementation is already under way and that the company hopes to complete its rollout by first quarter 2003.
