Police follow trail of doughnuts to recover stolen Krispy Kreme Truck

In Harrisburg, PA police followed a trail of doughnuts to recover a stolen Krispy Kreme delivery truck early this morning.

A Krispy Kreme deliveryman left the vehicle at a convenience store at approximately 12:45 am. The engine was left running and the back doors were open when someone drove off with the truck, Swatara Township Police said.

The unsecured freight fell out of the stolen vehicle during transit, and police followed the doughnuts to find the truck near a downtown bar by the Harrisburg city line. No arrests have been made.

“Every so often this scenario happens,” Swatara Township Sgt. Robert Simmonds told Fleet Owner. “It could be a private citizen who occasionally decides to take a truck out for a ride.”
