Detroit Diesel, NEXIQ Building Palm-based Diagnostic Tool
Detroit Diesel Corp. and NEXIQ Technologies Inc. (DDC) have announced they will team to develop a Palm OS-based handheld diagnostic tool for Detroit Diesel Electronic Controls.
NEXIQ will develop the Palm-based hardware and vehicle adapter, and DDC will offer the technology, to be named the Pocket Diagnostic Link (PDL), through its worldwide distributor organization.
Together, they will build the Palm OS platform device to read and capture select Detroit Diesel engine data. The companies did not state which model engines the PDL will be designed for.
PDL is expected to be released second quarter 2001.
