BorgWarner opens subsidiary in India
BorgWarner Cooling Systems has established a new subsidiary in Chennai, India, as demanding European engine emission legislation and rising fuel prices are forcing Indian vehicle manufacturers to incorporate new technologies.
BorgWarner said it is helping global manufacturers increase engine efficiency by engineering more defined lightweight fan drives and fans. Its initial strategy in India includes a cooperation agreement with Motherson Automotive Technologies & Engineering Ltd. Chennai for the production of polymer cooling fans.
Chicago-based BorgWarner now operates manufacturing and technical facilities in 46 locations in 13 countries. Customers include Ford, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Toyota, Caterpillar, Navistar International and VW Group.
