Aether Systems relaunched as GeoLogic Solutions Inc. after acquisition
    Nov. 16, 2004

Having been acquired by an investment firm and set up as a standalone business, the transportation industry wireless data division of Aether Systems has been officially relaunched as GeoLogic Solutions Inc. The new company will continue to market and support MobileMax, its dual-mode communications and fleet management system, and TrailerMax, an untethered trailer tracking system.

Headquartered in Owings Mills, MD, GeoLogic has over 400 fleet customers operating approximately 50,000 wireless devices in the U.S. and Canada. Platinum Equity acquired that business from Aether in Sept. Platinum’s sr. vp for operations, Ross Young, is now serving as interim president of GeoLogic, while former Aether VP Ken Mitchell is the new company’s VP of sales and marketing.
